I HATE moisturising my body, with that clammy feeling while it sinks in.
But it is on my radar in this warmer , and a body serum is the perfect solution to hydration without the wait. I try three out.â
BUDGET

Byoma body smoothing body serum, £13.99 for 200ml, cultbeauty.co.uk: I found this serum to be the most hydrating of the three, so if dryness is your main problem, it’s well worth a try.
Because of the moisturising properties, it leaves a glossy finish which is initially sticky but dries in a couple of minutes â and quickly enough that you can get dressed almost immediately.
The pump feels quite clunky but one portion is enough for each limb, which makes it well-measured and helps avoid waste.
As well as hydrating, the formula includes exfoliating succinic acid, which helps smooth bumps.
MID-RANGE

Alpha-H daily dose multivitamin body serum, £30 for 150ml, M&S: I immediately prefer the tube packaging to the pump dispensers of the other two.
It means you can apply it directly to your limbs and rub in for a more even coverage, rather than having to pump it into your hands first, and makes it more travel-friendly because it takes up less space.
The formula is very fluid, so you don’t have to spend ages working it into skin as it absorbs almost immediately.
Yet the powerhouse combination of vitamin C, niacinamide, hyaluronic and polyglutamic acid helps reduce sensitivity and redness, and brightens and moisturises skin. It is the one I reach for most.
LUXURY

Necessaire the body serum fragrance-free, £45 for 150ml, spacenk.com: Out of the pump, I thought this was going to be the thickest of the three. But it practically melted on contact with my skin and became virtually weightless.
There is no residue left at all, but my skin feels hydrated all day. The sophisticated mixture of soothing and moisturising aloe, niacinamide, ceramides, hyaluronic acid and glycerin alongside gently exfoliating PHAs almost justifies the price.
It is hypo-allergenic and the only one here that is fragrance-free, making it the best for sensitive skin.
