Hollywood legends Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal land bizarre new role in snooker ahead of World Championship

HOLLYWOOD actors Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal have bizarrely appeared in TNT Sports' new advert for the upcoming World Snooker Championship.

and star in upcoming film The Accountant 2.

In preparation for the film's April 25 release, the pair have teamed up with to advertise both their movie, and ‘s biggest tournament.

The World Snooker Championship was long broadcast by Eurosport, who agreed on a 10-year extension to show all the action from Sheffield's Crucible Theatre back in 2016.

Following Eurosport's , however, this year's tournament will be shown by the latter channel for the first time.

In preparation for the event, TNT teamed up with Affleck and Bernthal for a mutually beneficial advert.

Throughout the minute-long clip, Affleck, 52, and Bernthal, 48, pronounce snooker as “snucker”.

While Affleck also makes a tongue-in-cheek “snucker joke” – telling viewers “That's my cue…”

Towards the end of the advert, Bernthal brings up the debate between fans over the 147 break vs nine dart finish vs hole in one.

Affleck jokingly replies: “Well it's obvious… 147 is the biggest number.”

Referencing the name of their upcoming movie, Bernthal then jokes: “And that's why you're the accountant!”

Responding to the advert, one fan joked: “Never thought I’d see Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal promoting snooker.”

While a second wrote: “This is the TNT factor for those asking why things have changed.”

And another added: “Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal pronouncing “snooker”; as “snuka”; annoyed me far more than it should any rational person.”

The World Snooker Championship is set to begin on April 19.
