Benue: Senator Abba Moro condemns Otobi-Akpa killings, consoles victims’ families

Senator Abba Moro, representing Benue South Senatorial District, has condemned in strong terms the recent attack on Otobi-Akpa community in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Moro described the latest attack, which left 11 people dead as an unprovoked and unacceptable act of violence.

In a condolence message released on Wednesday, Senator Moro expressed deep sorrow over the Tuesday evening attack by suspected herders, which claimed several lives and left properties worth millions of naira destroyed.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Otobi-Akpa community in Otukpo LGA. The unprovoked attack on them remains condemned,”; the Senator stated.

“The attack and several others before it on Benue South communities by killer herdsmen are unacceptable.”;

He added that the people of Benue South have the right to live and do their business peacefully without fear, threats, or harm. That right must be guaranteed,”; he affirmed.

Senator Moro further reiterated his commitment to working with all relevant stakeholders and authorities to bring an end to what he described as “mindless attacks on innocent and armless people”; across his senatorial district.

While offering prayers for the deceased and their grieving families, he called for calm and resilience among residents of the affected communities.

“I pray God to give those who lost loved ones the hearts to bear the irreplaceable losses and grant eternal rest to the deceased,”; he said.
