Fans were divided

A massive rule change was announced as soon as the show began, with Ant and Dec sharing how the Golden Buzzer could be pressed during the live semi-final, sending one act straight through to the final next month.

For each of the semi final episodes, a different judge has the privilege of controlling the Golden Buzzer, with handed the reigns on Saturday.

But fans insisted that Amanda made a huge mistake after she pressed it.

Many thought that Amanda pressed it too soon, with others saying the Golden Buzzer decision should be made at the end of the episode to ensure it's fair.

One person on X said: “So we can’t vote until we’ve seen all the acts but a golden buzzer can be given before they’ve seen all the acts...”

“For the semi-finals of @BGT would it not be fairer to choose the golden buzzer act at the END of the show?” asked another.

Amanda ended up using her Golden Buzzer privilege on The Blackouts – an LED dance act.

The Blackouts were the third act to perform, with people thinking she made her decision on who to put through to the final too quickly.

“Seems she was a bit quick with that golden buzzer then..” said one person.

A second person then added: “Wow Amanda gone early with the golden buzzer but it's a very worthy one well done Amanda.”

While a third wrote: “Now that deserved the golden buzzer,” referring to a different act, adding: “But no, Amanda wasted it on the second act people covered in lights dancing round.”

This comes after Bruno Tonioli revealed the of the Golden Buzzer rule shakeup to The Sun before the semi finals.

“We have anow in every semi-final,”; he told us.

“Each one of us, one night, we press the golden buzzer and send that person straight to the final. That has never happened before.

“With the live shows, the atmosphere is just electrifying and the talent is so, so, so high.

“What we’ve got in every genre is extraordinary, from singers, magicians, comedians, dancers.”;

This comes as viewers marvelled at the chaotic semi final episode that saw delays, technical issues, a fuming , and at the last minute.

After due to perform had taken to the stage on Saturday, co-host Dec announced: “Unfortunately, Teddy Magic won't be performing tonight.”

Earlier on in the show, were forced to reveal that Teddy was “delayed” backstage.
