BRITISH employers are clinging onto woke diversity policies — unlike their counterparts in the US.

President sparked a rush by US employers to ditch diversity, inclusion and equality initiatives when he aimed at eradicating them.

However, 71 per cent of British businesses said they had no plans to change their DEI strategies, according to a poll of 605 businesses by the Institute of Directors.

Just one in ten said they would scale them back, while one in 25 insisted they would be increasing them.

It comes as big US businesses, including , and , disband their diversity teams.

Global consulting firm Accenture said it would be “sunsetting”; its diversity goals.

In Britain, some, including BT, led by CEO Allison Kirkby, have cut diversity targets from bonus thresholds.

The divergence in policies has already caused tensions in multinationals that have one rule for American workers and another for the British.

Alex Hall-Chen, at the IoD, said: “Some global employers will have to tread a difficult line between avoiding divergence with US counterparts and meeting the expectations of UK stakeholders.”;
