Arsenal midfielder, Declan Rice, on Tuesday night entered history book after his side's UEFA Champions League 3-0 win against Real Madrid.

The England international led the Premier League North London club to beat the Los Blancos in the Champions League quarter-final first leg tie at the Emirates Stadium.

Rice's brace and a from Mikel Merino gave the Gunners the win over Real Madrid.

However, according to OptaJean, Rice is now the first player ever to score two goals from direct free kicks in a Champions League knockout stage match.

Rice will hope to lead Arsenal to victory when they face Madrid in the return in Spain next week.

Arsenal will face Brentford in the Premier League this week in their next game before the Real Madrid second leg fixture.

Mikel Arteta's side currently sit in second position on the Premier League table behind leaders Liverpool with less than seven matches to complete the season.
