Champions League: PSG come from behind to beat Aston Villa, Barcelona crush Dortmund

Published on April 09, 2025 at 09:30 PM

Paris Saint-Germain had to come from behind to beat Aston Villa 3-1 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday night.
The Premier League side took the lead at the Parc des Princes through Morgan Rogers against the run of play. Rogers finished off a smooth passage of play that ended with the ball being squared into his path by Youri Tielemans.

However, PSG, who were crowned Ligue 1 champions last weekend, bounced back with three goals to take control of the tie. Desire Doue levelled before the break with a curling effort, but Khvicha Kvaratskhelia put the hosts in front with a sublime solo goal. There was still enough time for left-back Nuno Mendes to add a third for Luis Enrique's side.

In the other game of the night, Robert Lewandowski scored a brace as Barcelona hammered Borussia Dortmund 4-0. Raphina and Lamine Yamal also got on the scoresheet for the LaLiga giants.
