Champions League semi-final: Wenger predicts Arsenal vs PSG tie

Published on April 29, 2025 at 10:46 AM

Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has predicted that the current squad has what it takes to qualify for the Champions League final this year.

The Gunners will host Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their semi-final tie on Tuesday.

Ahead of the game, Wenger has praised their defensive solidity.

However, the Frenchman believes Mikel Arteta’s men need to avoid getting a red card, if they want to give themselves the best chance possible.

“[It is important] that you have no sending off or stupid reactions at some stage,”; Wenger told Sky Sports.

“Overall, I believe Arsenal is very solid defensively and, over the two legs that will have a big importance.”;

Arsenal have only played in the final of the Champions League once, when they threw away a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 to Barcelona in 2006.
