Champions League: They’re terrific, very important – Flick hails three Barcelona players

Published on April 10, 2025 at 06:46 AM

Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick has singled out three of his players for praise following their UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg 4-0 win against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.

The three players are Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.

Flick said the trio are terrific and very important for Barcelona team.

Recall that Lewandowski, Raphinha and Yamal all scored the goals as Barca defeated Dortmund at Camp Nou.

Speaking after the game, Flick said at his post-match press interview: “We are not through yet. Winning by this many goals is important and, when a team plays as well as that, goals normally do flow.

“We aren’t thinking we are through because you simply never know what might happen. Football is madness. We will be determined to play like this again next week.

“Dortmund are a good team and so we are already aware that we need to travel over there and commit as few errors as possible.

“Our three guys up front are terrific and very important but so is our defence... and our guys who come off the bench and somehow manage to hit the same performance level as the players they replace.”

The Champions League quarter-final second leg tie will take place next week Tuesday.
