CHANNEL 5 has axed one of its most popular shows after 21 years on screen following a disastrous refresh.
Bosses at the broadcaster were faced with in 2023.



Its long-running tech-orientated format was given an overhaul and a new title – – with a broader focus on consumer affairs.
A new presenting lineup was also established as and Ortis Deley became the sole hosts, after star .
However, The Sun can reveal has brought the axe down, four series on from its divisive rebrand.
A source said: “The Gadget Show had a loyal following for years but fans were left less than impressed when C5 played with the established format.
“It resulted in long-term viewers tuning out for good, while others slowly dwindled away.
“Between production changes and fan-favourite presenters being replaced, the show lost its appeal.
“After weighing up production costs a decision was made to scrap the series.”
The Sun has contacted Channel 5.
Original presenters of The Gadget Show included , Georgie Barrat, Jason Bradbury, , and Dionne South.
Addressing backlash from fans at the time of its rebrand, a spokesperson previously said: “While the latest series has proved popular, we acknowledge that there has been some negative feedback regarding the recent format change.
“We understand that change can sometimes be met with mixed reactions, and we appreciate the feedback we have received from our viewers.
“The decision to transition to The Good Gadget Guide: Shop Smart, Save Money was made to appeal to the broadest possible audience while providing valuable insights and recommendations in the realm of technology.
“The world of gadgets is constantly evolving, and we want to ensure that our content remains relevant and valuable to a broad range of viewers.
“Our goal is to strike a balance that appeals to a diverse audience while staying true to our commitment of providing valuable and engaging content in the world of technology.”
Last year the production company behind The Gadget Show told fans they were ‘rebooting' the series and launched a new podcast that was reminiscent of its original format.
It's presented by original hosts Jason Bradbury and Suzi Perry.
