ARGENTINA’S Champions Trophy clash between Boca Juniors and Racing Club descended into MAYHEM as TEN players were sent off in stoppage time.

With the game level at 1-1 heading into the final moments of the match in San Luis, referee Facunda Tello dismissed Boca star Sebastian Villa and Racing man Johan Carbonero for getting into a fight.

The match then went into extra-time as Racing took a 2-1 lead in the 118th minute through Carlos Alcaraz.

But that was far from the end of the controversy.

After the goal, a melee broke out among both sets of players as tempers boiled over.

Goalscorer Alcaraz was the first player to be shown a red card following the mass chaos – which began when Boca reacted to his celebration.

They pushed him, grabbed his ear and threw the ball at him, but it was Alcaraz who was sent off first.

Six more dismissals then followed as the referee was forced to deal with a manic end to the match.

In total, seven Boca players were sent off, with Racing also receiving three red cards.

Racing won the match 2-1 to lift the Champions Trophy, but the event was somewhat marred by the scenes at the end of the game.

Meanwhile, referee Tello will now feel well-equipped for the World Cup when he travels out to Qatar later this month.

The Argentine official is a frequent brandisher of cards, with Tello showing 612 yellow cards and 45 red cards in 118 matches in South America.
