A GARDENING lover has shared a simple 55p hack to banish slugs and flies from your garden.
Withand aon the horizon, many of us are likely planning on heading out into the garden to get somedone.


However, the warmer temperatures are the perfect breeding ground for pests like flies and slugs to emerge, and wreak havoc on your plants.
Slugs loveand seedlings, and if you’re not careful, could leave you with nothing come harvest season.
Flies are also unwelcome visitors, with their maggots feeding on the roots, stems and fruits of plants.
Thankfully, one penny pinching garden lover has come up with a simple solution, that won’t break the bank.
Ellie, (@ellies.greenhouse) describes herself as a “beginner”; gardener, and took to TikTok to share the helpful tip.
The novice gardener said that she had run in to pests on her vegetables and flowers.
To tackle this, Ellie’s father in law suggested an “eco-friendly and cheap hack”; to repel the pests.
Demonstrating the pest-busting trick, Ellie crushed some garlic into a fine paste, and put it into a spray bottle along with some water.
She then sprayed it on to her precious plants, and waited for the mixture to work it’s magic.
“This will work for a number of pests like flies and slugs, and you can use it on most plants,”; she said.
Ellie’s video like left many impressed, with garden lovers rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One person said: “Never heard of this, thanks for the tip!”;

A third, sharing their own tip said: “Certain flowers also repel pests!
“That can be a good option to look into for your flower beds.”;
Slugs and flies detest garlic due to it’s strong pungent odour, making this the perfect hack to keep them at bay.
