CHRISTIAN PULISIC should follow in Timo Wernerâs footsteps by QUITTING Chelsea.
Thatâs according to Jamie Carragher, who reckons the American stands a better chance of becoming a top-level player at a âsmallerâ club.
Pulisic, 24, is in his fourth season at Chelsea after a ã58million move from Borussia Dortmund.
But he is yet to take Stamford Bridge by storm after suffering numerous injury setbacks.
And after failing to win over Thomas Tuchel, Pulisic continues to be an outside squad player under Graham Potter.
Over the summer, the winger saw fellow misfit Timo Werner ditch Chelsea for a return to RB Leipzig.
The German has since scored eight goals this term â seven more than Pulisic.
And Carragher believes the time has come for the USA captain to start considering his own future.
Liverpoolâs former captain claims Pulisic could reach greater heights as a player if he can be the star man for a lower-ranking club.
Carragher points to Wernerâs new-found form at Leipzig as inspiration for Pulisic.

But he admits flexible boss Potter could yet provide more opportunities after starting the forward in last nightâs Champions League win at RB Salzburg.
Carragher told CBS: â100 per cent [Pulisic should consider a smaller club].
âA lot of footballers are different, I do scratch my head when I see certain players at clubs for a long time and they never really get into the team.
âAnd thatâs why I think Thierry [Henry] is saying he respects Timo Werner. Rather than just sitting on the bench another year or two heâs gone back to somewhere where heâs going to play week in, week out.
âAnd I just think Pulisic is sort of at that stage now where thereâs been a few managerial changes.
“It looks like heâs getting more of a chance with Potter, but not just him, I think Graham Potter is a manager who changes it every game so everyone is getting a chance.
âSo he may feel like heâs getting more of an opportunity to prove to the manager he can be in that recognised 11.
âBut heâs been there a few years now, it hasnât quite happened for him for whatever reason, and maybe Dortmund is a level down from Chelsea who are a team who are trying to win the Champions League â we know Pulisic was part of that win.
âBut eventually you have to make that decision. I donât think you can continue to be in that position that heâs been in for the last two or three years.â
