COLE PALMER has become synonymous with his “cold” celebration, where he wraps his arms around his body as if he were cold.

Since then he has chalked up 39 goals on his Chelsea tally, with the celebration coming out almost every time.
, 22, has made no secret about the celebration not being his own original work.
He previously admitted how, following his time in the City academy, he was inspired to perform the celebration by then team-mate .
star Rogers was accused of copying the celebration when he scored against Chelsea in April 2024, before he clarified: “It's the opposite, I did it first, he copied me.”
Palmer responded by saying: “Rogers knows that I did it and that it went viral.He [Rogers] may have done it, but everyone knows it's my celebration.”

However, the true origin of the move dates back years, and even outside of .
ace Diego Lopez was asked about the celebration after scoring his fourth goal in a row, something he has done since before he joined the Spanish club in 2023.
Lopez, 22, was not too happy about the news of Palmer patenting the move and responded on social media by sharing a photo of him doing the cold move, captioned with the year 2022 and a set of .
After scoring again for and using the celebration, he told Tribuna Deportiva: “The receipt has not arrived yet, I don't know if it is because they do not have my address or because Valencia is in charge of it.
“If you want, I can explain that I have been doing that for four years now.
“I will continue to celebrate like this because I like it and I hope I celebrate it a lot because that will mean that I am scoring a lot of goals.”
However, Lopez has also revealed his own origin for the move, which actually comes from star Trae Young.
He explained: “He's a player that I particularly like. When he scores an important basket or wins a key game, he celebrates it like this.I liked it and I copied it a bit.”
Even Atalanta Hawks star Young has heard of Palmer using the celebration.
But the 26-year-old Point Guard told talkSPORT his prompt for the move came from his childhood.
He said: “I remember being in the basement of the house with my friends watching games of our favourite players making gestures. I said,‘We have to invent something.'
“One of my friends replied, ‘You'reIce Trae.Be cold as ice.'
“I rememberthat I made a three-pointer, I don't know if it was to win a game or not, but I did it andsince then I adopted it.I didn't get it from anyone.”
Regardless of its original source, the celebration has become popular worldwide.
Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo used the move at last summer's Olympics, while Yankees player Gleyber Torres and wide receiver have both used the “cold” celebration.
Other stars including ex-Arsenal star have also used the celebration.
