Copa del Rey final: Real Madrid suffer double injury blow ahead Barcelona clash

Published on April 24, 2025 at 10:59 AM

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has confirmed that David Alaba and Eduardo Camavinga will miss the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona due to injury.

Alaba was taken off at half-time of their 1-0 win against Getafe on Thursday.

Incidentally, he was replaced by Camavinga, who himself could not finish the game.

Madrid have now confirmed that Camavinga suffered “a complete tear of his left adductor tendon” and will not play again this season.

This fresh double injury blow poses more problems for Ancelotti, who is facing the sack heading into his team's clash with fierce rivals Barcelona this weekend.

He is already without defenders Ferland Mendy, Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal, as well as forward Kylian Mbappe.

“Camavinga needs to be seen [on Thursday], but both he and Alaba's are muscle problems, and it's difficult for them to be there for Saturday,” he said.

“I'm not upset because the objective was to get the three points… It's true that we looked for more solidity at the back and we need more effectiveness up front. Yes, Fran García is the only alternative at left back for Saturday.”
