A tragic explosion on Tuesday rocked the Abakpa area of Kaduna State, claiming the lives of two children and leaving three others injured.

The victims have been identified as 13-year-old Imam and six-year-old Nasrin.

The blast occurred just two kilometers from the old site of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), sending shockwaves and panic across the neighborhood.

Eyewitnesses recounted the horrifying scene, with one resident describing how he attempted to rush Imam to the hospital, only for the boy to die on the way.

Security agencies swiftly responded to the scene and have launched an investigation to uncover the cause of the explosion, which remains unknown at the time of this report.

The incident has left the community shaken, with many residents still in shock and fear as investigations continue.

More updates to follow as the situation develops.
