Despite Supreme Court judgment, Abure insists he remains LP National Chairman

Despite Supreme Court judgment on Friday on the leadership crisis rocking the Labour Party, Julius Abure insists he remains the National Chairman of the Party.

Abure in a post on his X handle on Friday shortly after the apex court judgement wrote: “Barr Julius Abure still Remains The National Chairman of Labour Party.”

A five-member panel of the apex court held that the Court of Appeal lacked the jurisdiction to pronounce Abure the National Chairman of the LP.

However, the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee said that LP remains steadfast in its mission to create a new Nigeria.

The Supreme Court also allowed the appeal filed by the Labour Party Caretaker Committee Chairman, Senator Esther Nenadi Usman and one other, declaring it meritorious.
