The military president of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has expressed felicitations as Christian faithfuls mark this year's Easter celebrations.
Traoré disclosed this in a statement through his X account on Sunday.
He said, “After forty days of spiritual effort and deprivation, the Christian faithful celebrate the Resurrection of Christ today.”
The military ruler added that, “May divine favours accompany our fighting forces in the defence of our homeland, our dignity, and our sovereignty.
“Happy Christian Day to the Christians of Burkina Faso and the rest of the world.”
His message comes as Christians mark Easter celebrations on Sunday.
