Easter: Police, NSCDC deploy operatives to churches, recreational spots in Abia

The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Abia State Command, Akinsola Aderemi, has deployed a total of 705 personnel to ensure the security of lives and property across the state.

This deployment, according to the Command, is part of its proactive measures to guarantee a safe and peaceful celebration for everyone residing in the state.

A statement signed by Doreen Udugwu, the Command's Public Relations Officer, said the 705 officers will be strategically positioned in various locations, including churches, markets, motor parks and other public places.

Akinsola directed that the deployment be carried out with utmost professionalism and diligence, adding that the officers would work in collaboration with other security agencies to provide round-the-clock security coverage.

Similarly, the Abia State Police Command has activated a comprehensive Operation Order to provide robust security measures before, during and after Easter.

A statement signed by DSP Maureen Chinaka on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Police Command, said security personnel have been deployed strategically to different spots across the state.

The Abia Police Command which said that regular special patrol would be carried out on major roads, assured that worship centres, recreational spots and other public places, as well as lives and property, would be protected.
