Enugu: LP’s Nnamchi lauds Appeal Court for affirming his election

A member of the House of Representatives, Paul Nnamchi (LP-Enugu State), has commended the Court of Appeal for affirming his election as the representative of the Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency of Enugu State.

Nnamchi gave the commendation in a statement while reacting to the appellate court’s judgment, which overturned the Electoral Petitions Tribunal’s decision in Enugu that had nullified his election as a member of the Green Chamber.

According to him, the Court of Appeal, which sat in Lagos, validates the people’s choice in the National Assembly election held on February 25, 2023.

The lawmaker pledged to redouble his efforts to ensure effective representation of the people in the federal legislature.

He reiterated his commitment to providing purposeful representation to his constituency and the entire state.

“I thank my constituents for their support and confidence in me, and I also commend the Court of Appeal for upholding the mandate overwhelmingly given to me by my people.

“I will continue to champion people-oriented legislations, as well as putting all the issues affecting my constituents and Nigerians at large on the front burner of discourse in the parliament,”; he reaffirmed.

Nnamchi extended a hand of fellowship to his challenger, Mr. Cornelius Nnaji of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying there is “no victor and no vanquished.”; (NAN)
