EPL: 4 fixtures we could see shock results this weekend

Published on April 05, 2025 at 06:16 AM

There are eight rounds of games left in the Premier League this season.

This means that teams are beginning to have an idea where they could finish next month.

Manchester City's trip to Manchester United this Sunday will be the match of the weekend.

But what are the other games we could see shock results?

1. Everton vs Arsenal: The return of David Moyes has seen Everton become a formidable team again. The Toffees were probably unlucky to lose 1-0 to Liverpool in midweek. It could have been a different game if Beto didn't hit the post in the half. They host Arsenal in Saturday's early kick-off. Mikel Arteta's men could have one eye on the Real Madrid clash in the Champions League.

2. Brentford vs Chelsea: Despite their 1-0 win over Tottenham on Thursday, Chelsea were not particularly impressive. Spurs were just really bad and offered nothing at Stamford Bridge. Brentford are a solid team when they play at home and will give Enzo Maresca's men a proper game. Also note this is a West London Derby.

3. Fulham vs Liverpool: Arne Slot will probably win the Premier League title in his first season at Liverpool. But it does not mean the Reds will win every match until their coronation. A trip to Craven Cottage could be a potential banana skin for the champions-elect, as Fulham will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back defeats.

4. Tottenham vs Southampton: Ange Postecoglou is probably in the final days of his time as manager of Tottenham Hotspur. The North London side have endured a torrid campaign and sit in 14th place ahead of this weekend's fixtures. They are only a few places ahead of Southampton, who they host on Sunday, but could drop points to.
