Former England international, Alan Shearer, has said he would be “amazed” if Liverpool wins the Premier League comfortably next season.
Shearer, speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, predicted that at least five teams will provide more competition next term.
Liverpool were confirmed champions after they trashed Tottenham 5-2 on Sunday.
The Reds now sit 15 points above second-placed Arsenal and 21 points ahead of last year’s champions Manchester City.
City could not clinch a record-extending fifth successive title after enduring a miserable season.
Shearer believes Arne Slot's will face stiffer competition when they try to defend their crown.
“I would be amazed if Liverpool won it as easily next season,” Shearer said.
“I don’t see that happening at all.
“There are so many teams waiting to improve, Arsenal being one, Man City being another, Newcastle and Aston Villa as well. Chelsea are another one.
“There are so many teams that are willing and have to improve next year. If Liverpool win it next year, it won’t be as easy.”
