EPL: Alan Shearer urges Man Utd to sign two attackers

Published on April 24, 2025 at 08:03 PM

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has urged Manchester United to complete the signing of Wolves' Matheus Cunha and Ipswich Town's Liam Delap.

Both attackers have been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer.

Man United are keen to bolster their head coach Ruben Amorim's squad at the end of the season.

The Red Devils are having a poor outing in the Premier League this season. They are currently in the second half of the Premier League table.

“Matheus Cunha has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford but wouldn’t make a difference for Man United – they are going to need another six or seven players on top of that,” Shearer told Betfair.

“He is just one of the players, if it is going to happen, but yeah, I get it and I understand it.

“United are going to need more than him, but he will be a welcome addition, absolutely.

“They have also been linked with Liam Delap. But one or the other? They need to sign both.

“They need a top-class centre-forward like Delap, but they need someone like Cunha as well. They need players defensively as well, all around the pitch they need reinforcement,” he said.
