Chelsea legend, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, has claimed that striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was let down by his teammates during Sundayâs Premier League 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.
Aubameyang made only eight touches in the 64 minutes he played for Chelsea against Arsenal before being replaced by Armando Broja in the second half.
However, Hasselbaink believes there were a few moments during the encounter in which Aubameyang made a good run, but the ball did not get to him.
He highlighted that in the first half, the former Barcelona attacker could have had a big chance if Kai Havertz had not crossed the ball to an empty area.
âWe were talking about Aubameyangâs having only scored one goal [in the league] so far,â Hasselbaink told Premier League Productions.
âBut he [did] everything right [in the game against Arsenal]. He was in the middle of the goal, he stopped and checked.
âHe only needed that yard, that yard that [Manchester Cityâs Erling] Haaland gets.
âBut his [Haaland] teammates find him, and he just has to find the corner [of the goal].
âThatâs the difference.â
