EPL: He’s unstoppable – Guardiola labels Man City star best player in the world

Published on April 23, 2025 at 06:00 AM

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has labelled winger, Jeremy Doku as the best player in the world ‘in the first five metres’.

Guardiola said this after Manchester City’s Premier League 2-1 win against Aston Villa on Tuesday night.

The Spaniard said the Belgium international is unstoppable against Aston Villa.

Two goals from Matheus Nunes and Bernardo Silva gave the hosts all three points against Aston Villa.

Marcus Rashford, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa from Man United, did score a goal for Unai Emery's side at Etihad.

The result against Aston Villa leaves Guardiola's side in third position on the Premier League table.

Speaking at his post-match interview, Guardiola said: “Jeremy always gives you something, for the crowd, we changed the game.

“In the first three or four actions [against] Disasi and Malen, he could not do the action.

“But in the end... for me, Jeremy is the best player in the world in the first metres. In the first five metres he’s unstoppable.”

Doku joined Man City from Rennes in a £55.5 million deal in August 2023.
