EPL: Liverpool could be confirmed champions today

Published on April 23, 2025 at 07:32 AM

Liverpool could be confirmed Premier League champions on Wednesday night.

The Reds maintained their 13-point lead over second-placed Arsenal with a 1-0 win at Leicester City.

Trent Alexander-Arnold blasted in the winner at the King Power Stadium, to put Arne Slot's men within three points of winning the title.

However, Liverpool could already be champions, if Arsenal lose to Crystal Palace at the Emirates today.

But if Arsenal beat Palace, then the Gunners will move 10 points behind Liverpool having played a game more.

With five matches left for Liverpool, that would mean the Merseyside club would need to beat Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield to secure the Premier League title next Sunday.

If Arsenal draw against Palace, then Liverpool would not be crowned champions as they would be 12 points ahead of the Gunners – who could still pick up 12 more points between now and the end of the season.

However, Arsenal would have to achieve a 10-goal swing in the goal-difference tally.
