Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is ready to recall Andre Onana for their Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon.
Onana was dropped for the Premier League defeat at Newcastle United after his two errors saw United draw 2-2 with the Ligue 1 side in the first leg.
When asked about restoring the Cameroon goalkeeper back into his lineup for the match, Amorim insisted the 29-year-old was “ready” to return.
“As a former player, I try to do things that can help a player in this situation,” he said.
“We have to manage players both physically and mentally. Onana is ready; he had one weekend that was better for him not to play and better for Altay to play. This week, my thinking was to put Onana to play.”
Amorim, however, confirmed forward Joshua Zirkzee will miss the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury.
