Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has revealed that Joshua Zirkzee will miss the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury.
Zirkzee picked up the injury during the 4-1 defeat to Newcastle in the Premier League last weekend.
Ahead of United's Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon, Amorim has now delivered the bad news.
“He is out for the season,” he said.
“He will not play again this season, let's prepare him for the next one.
“It is tough, he was improving in every aspect of the game. It is tough for any player but he has to be ready to recover.”
Amorim will now be forced to rely on Rasmus Hojlund and Chido Obi-Martin as the only recognised strikers in his squad until next season.
