Everton vs Arsenal preview
Everton and Arsenal kick-start a busy round of Premier League fixtures at Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime.
It's been a quick turnaround for the Toffees, who suffered a 1-0 defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday.
It was a frustrating night for David Moyes' side, who watched as Beto missed a one-on-one with Caoimhin Kelleher before Diogo Jota netted a second-half winner.
However, replays showed that Luis Diaz had been standing in an offside position earlier in the build-up to the goal.
Frustrations aside, the Toffees are in a healthy position heading into the final eight games of the 2024-25 campaign.
Everton sit in 15th position and a full 14 points clear of Ipswich Town in the relegation zone following a run of one defeat in 10 games (W4, D5).
But Moyes will want to finish with a flourish as Goodison Park hosts just four more games before the club head to their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
And they might just fancy their chances given they've lost just two of their last 13 Premier League matches at Goodison.
In all competitions, Arsenal have also won just three of their last 26 away games on Merseyside against Everton and Liverpool (D10 L13).
As for the Gunners, they kept their slim hopes of a title success alive with a 2-1 victory over Fulham midweek.
They were also buoyed by the return of Bukayo Saka, who scored just seven minutes into his return after 101 days out injured.
With Champions League football virtually guaranteed and Liverpool still boasting a 12-point lead, it's reasonable to think Arsenal will have one eye on the first leg of their quarter-final against Real Madrid at home on Tuesday.
However, since the start of 2024, the Gunners have picked up more away top-flight points than any other side (52), and have conceded fewer goals than any other side on their travels (16).

Everton double chance
Arsenal face a challenging trip to Merseyside this weekend, arriving just days after their midweek victory over Fulham and with one eye on their biggest fixture of the season â Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final clash against Real Madrid at the Emirates.
With Liverpool all but securing the Premier League title, it would be understandable if the Gunners’ focus drifts towards European ambitions.
Despite edging a 1-0 win at Goodison Park last season, Arsenal have triumphed in only three of their last 26 away matches against Everton and Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Everton have been formidable at home, losing just two of their last 13 league games at Goodison. Under manager David Moyes, they have suffered just one defeat in their last 10 outings, setting the stage for a stern test for Mikel Arteta's side and a likely draw.

Involved
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard seems to enjoy playing against the Toffees.
The Norwegian, 26, has been involved in five goals in his last seven Premier League appearances against Everton (3 goals, 2 assists). Odegaard has provided five assists in his last three games for club and country, and should benefit from the return of Bukayo Saka.
