THIS is the shocking moment a brand new, £220,000 Ferrari bursts into flames on the road just an hour after the drive bought it from the dealership.

The owner, 33-year-old Japanese music producer Honkon, had spent a decade saving up for the expensive luxury Italian vehicle before disaster struck.

The incident took place in Tokyo's Minato area, with the white Ferrari 458 Spider captured burning to a crisp on the road.

Presumably shocked Honkon is seen at the side of the road, a few metres from the car inferno.

Other cars are captured slowing down as they pass the blaze, likely in amazement at what they're seeing.

Honkon took to social media to say that he had been driving for just one hour when he noticed white smoke coming from the ultra-luxurious vehicle.

He pulled over and stopped as the Ferrari burst into fierce flames.

Honkon recalled the terrifying moment, saying: “I was really scared that it would explode.”

The unlucky owner didn't sustain any injuries, with the fire eventually put out by the emergency services after about 20 minutes.

He added: “I think I'm the only person in Japan to have experienced such trouble.”

The Tokyo Metropolitan police Department is investigating the cause of the fire.

It is currently unclear if the vehicle was insured.
