A MAJOR UK supermarket is giving away free chocolate Easter eggs – and here's how to claim yours.

This Easter week, is launching its special delivery “Eggmergency Service” – for those with a guilty conscience.

New research from the retailer reveals almost two-thirds of parents (63%) are guilty of scoffing their kids' Easter eggs before, during and after the celebration.

Ocado‘s “Eggmergency Service” sees a dedicated van hit the streets of and , to remedy this.

These deliveries involve replacing scoffed Easter treats with the gift of a bundle of chocolate eggs.

Visits are available to residents of London and Leeds during Easter week.

To be in the running, parents need to confess any sweet slip-ups at www.ocado.com/eggmergency.

Successful applicants receive a cost-free delivery of five replacement chocolate eggs straight to their front door – just in time for Easter.

This includes a trio of eggs for the kids, as well as two extra indulgent ones for the parents.

Some examples include crowd-pleasing milk chocolate to creamy white, as well as dairy, gluten, and nut-free options,

Entries for the Eggmergency Service will close on Wednesday April 9 at 11.59pm.

Following this, five lucky winners in London and five in Leeds will be notified by Thursday, April 10.

Laura Harricks, Chief Customer Officer at Ocado Retail, said: “We think parents deserve to enjoy Easter just as much as the kids, so we’re doing what we can to make sure that happens this year – from making shopping for the whole family easy, to having the whole Easter shop in one stop and at great prices.

“Convenient doorstep deliveries are what we do at Ocado, so we’re well placed to give the Easter bunny a helping hand and – with the launch of the Eggmergency Service – take the pressure off panicked parents.”;

It comes as another major retailer – but shoppers complained the cost is still far too high.

Tesco cut the prices of its largest eggs for Clubcard holders as part of a promotion.

A selection of its premium eggs are now priced at either £12 down from £17.50, or £15 down from £20 for those with the .

But shoppers on theSnack Reviews Facebook grouphave hit out at the prices despite the reductions.

One person wrote: “Wouldn't even pay the reduced price ... day light robbery for loads of packaging and very little chocolate!!”

Another said: “Not a reduction. They're just trying to look less ridiculous.”

A spokesperson for told : “We have Easter eggs to suit every pocket at Tesco, with full-sized eggs for as little as £1.50 and Clubcard Price offers often available across many eggs in the range.”
