A cleaning expert has revealed how you can get rid of the marks from your walls

But it can seem overwhelming when you have no idea where to begin or what cleaning solutions work best.

Luckily, experts have revealed what works best for a thorough spring clean – and you might already have them in your kitchen cupboard.

Cleaning pro Nicola Rodriguez has said that homemade cleaning products are the way to go to get rid of common marks around the house.

And, in collaboration with Northerner, she revealed that mixing baking soda, bicarbonate of soda, and white vinegar creates an incredible paste that works to get out almost all grease marks and stains.

One annoying stain in the home that the paste removes is stain marks on walls caused by smoke.

Whether you light a lot of candles or smoke inside the home, these marks can be incredibly tricky to get rid of.

Things like smoke stains in particular can be difficult to remove without damaging any paint or wallpaper, but this works perfectly

And because they're normally very dark, they're also very unpleasant to look at.

But Nicola says all you need to do is spread the paste on the affected areas and then wipe it off with a damp cloth to remove it

And it won't even damage the paint or wallpaper.

She said: “Baking soda is an absolute must-have when it comes to homemade cleaning products.

“Before a big spring clean, always make sure that you have a packet of baking soda, bicarbonate of soda, and a bottle of white vinegar to hand.

“When combined, they create the most amazing paste that will help you keep on top of limescale and grease build-up.

“They are also natural ingredients so you can avoid harsh chemicals.

“They are also super cheap to buy – win-win!

“This combination is perfect for complex cleans like stubborn grease build-up and stained walls.

“Things like smoke stains in particular can be difficult to remove without damaging any paint or wallpaper.

“But this all-natural formula works perfectly.

“Of course, prevention is always better than cure, so you should smoke outside where you can to avoid the staining in the first place”.
