The wild, troublesome bushes are the ultimate gatecrashersin the garden and on pavements – but there is an.

One gardening expert on TikTok, who goes by the name of @Lovelello, suggested that homeowners should scrub away the stubborn weeds using a genius product called wired brush.

And she insists it's “worth every penny”.

The woman said: “I hate pulling weeds out with my hands. I will not do that no matter how much you want to pay me.

“This area usually gets overlooked, so I said enough is enough, and I got this lovely wire brush.

“Look at this. This is life changing. The lovely metal hook that you can see there and that actually gets the roots out.

“So after you're done scrubbing and everything, you do go around to make sure all the roots are out so this is so brilliant.”

The expert added that she poured boiling hot water over the area once she was finished scrubbing, claiming that this ensures the weeds don't grow back.

Wire brushes are a simple home tool that can be bought for just 79p from Home Bargains and other supermarket giants.

While most gardeners like to use vinegar as an effective solution to remove weeds, many experts argue that it is not the most effective method to kill the wild plants.

That is because vinegar is acidic in nature and may damage your patio slabs and other surfaces which are made of limestone or concrete.

Vinegar may causegastrointestinalissues inpetswho lick it off those surfaces.

But there is another effective solution – a product that can be found in every kitchen.

A frustrated gardener who struggled to keep the “weeds in check” sought for some advice on getting rid of weeds on the poplar page on the Gardening Hints and Tips.

She wrote: “I’ve seen lots of posts lately about the use of white vinegar and salt for weed killing.

“I have a gravel-covered drive and can’t seem to keep the weeds in check, even using the recommended weed killer for paths.

“Would they work on the drive, or is there something better? There are no other plants in the vicinity, and it's not like I would be planting anything on the drive infuture.”;;

Many experts quickly commented on her post, suggesting she use laundry detergent instead.

expert Tom Clifford agreed that using detergent is a more effective solution.

And using one scoop of detergent could cost users as low as 54p.

Tom said: “Strong chemical weed killers, although effective, can often be harmful to your patio surface, especially if it’s made from delicate stone.

“Washing powder offers a gentler option that shouldn’t harm your patio surface but will effectively kill weeds.”
