IT kickstarted the careers of many a child star who went on to Hollywood fame – including Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson.
Now, as if by magic, the brand is being rebooted with an upcoming HBO series a whopping thirteen years since the final film, the Deathly Hallows Part 2.



Earlier this week the cast of eagerly awaited series were revealed -with John Lithgow set to play Albus Dumbledore,as Minerva McGonagall and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape.
have big shoes to fill but also mischievous legacies to live up to – withandonce rumoured to have been pictured smoking cannabis at parties.
Some of the other stars have also had their fair share of scandals that would put even the worst members of Slytherin to the test.
From prison sentences to posing naked for Playboy, we take a look at the most scandalous events that have plagued the cast members.
Jamie Waylett
Jamie Waylett, 35, played Hogwarts bully Vincent Crabbe and Draco Malfoy's pal from 2001 to 2009in six of the.
But he was cut from the final two instalments after his car pulled over by police who found a knife and eight bags of cannabis inside, in April 2009.
He was arrested and a subsequent search found he was growing cannabis plants thought to be worth £2,000 in his family home.
Two years later in 2011 he was arrested again, during the riots in London, and was convicted of violent disorder, gaining a two year jail sentence.
Jamie was pictured holding a petrol bomb and swigging from a stolen bottle of champagne and was also accused of looting a pharmacy.
After his release, Waylett never returned to acting but began flogging personalised videos on the messaging website Cameo. He now describes himself as a ‘rapper'.
Josh Herdman


Josh Herdman, 38, played Gregory Goyle in the movies and went on to star in the the 2018 movie Robin Hood, alongside Jamie Foxx and Jamie Dornan.
In 2016, after five years of jiujitsu training, he became an MMA fighter.
The actor launched an expletive filled rant against a super-fan on Instagram in screenshots obtained by Flying Eze in 2018.
In 2020, he was allegedly caught on CCTV camera vandalising a boozer in Scotland on a night out with Slytherin buddy Jamie Waylett.
The pair were visiting the city for a magic-themed event and obviously still live up to theirdark magic reputation.
Daniel Radcliffe


, who infamously played Harry Potter, has previously spoken out about his alcoholism and said he used booze to cope with the pressures of living a celebrity lifestyle.
Daniel told Hearst magazines: “I went into work still drunk, but I never drank at work. I can point to many scenes where I'm just gone. Dead behind the eyes.”;
He has been sober since 2010.
He also spoke about losing virginity at 16 to “a much older woman” and said his dream would be to play a ‘crossdresser' because “it would be an excuse to wear loads of eye make-up.
When he was 17, stripped naked for his role in London's West End play Equus and caused a fan frenzy – making a name for himself in the theatre world.
His character also had to perform grotesque crimes against horses during the play.
Nicholas Read

Nicolas was arrested in 2011 and given a 20-week suspended sentence for indecently exposing himself to a teenager on a train.
According to the BBC, he was found guilty of performing a sex act under the cover of a juggler's hat in October 2010 while sitting next to a 17-year-old girl who said she felt trapped.
The actor also had previous convictions from making explicit phone calls to women he didn’t know from a hotel room.
Devon Murray


Devon Murray played Seamus Finnigan, an Irish half-blood wizard, in the films.
In 2016, he and his parents were sued by his former agent who claimed the actor owed him commission fees of more than £230,000. He was ordered to pay Neil Brooks £210,000.
At the time, he tweeted: “It's amazing how one man can destroy mine and my parents life so easily. Never been as mad, crazy, scared in all my life.”
In the court case, his mum told the court he had blown almost a million after he’d “gone out drinking, taken out girls and bought cars, because that is what teenage boys do.”;
The star later claimed his life changed after he became a dad in 2021.
Ralph Fiennes



played Voldemort in Goblet of Fire, The Order of the Phoenix, The Half-Blood Prince, and The Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Part 2.
In 2007, the Oscar winner was accused of having sex with flight attendant Lisa Robertson on a Qantas flight from Darwin to Mumba.

Scarlett Byrne played Slytherin student Pansy Parkinson in the Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2.
Now she is known as Scarlett Hefner after marrying Playboy founder Hugh Hefner's son Cooper in 2019.
The star even posed nude for before marrying into the family and appeared nude on the front cover for the March/April 2017 publication.
Since then, the pair have had twins and Scarlett previously said she was grateful to her husband for the opportunity to be on the cover and captioned her Instagram post #NakedIsNormal.
Jessie Cave


Jessie Cave, 37, played Lavender Brow, a pure-blood Gryffindor witch in the Harry Potter films.
She revealed earlier this year that she started an OnlyFans account to help her “get out of debt”;.
Jessie said she would not offer sexual content but rather “the best quality hair sounds”; and “sensual”; hair videos, with an aim to appeal to people with a hair fetish.
She said: “It’s a fetish. Fetish doesn’t necessarily mean sexual”;.
