FORGET proposals on the beach or asking for your partner's hand in a more intimate setting over a candlelit dinner.

One fella has left people in stitches over his hotel room display of which included rose petals – that they reckon look like bits of ”” chucked on the bed.

Instead of confessing his love, the romantic wrote ‘Man likes U'

The hilarious set-up was posted on by pal Douglas Pearson, who couldn't believe his eyes when he saw what the romantic friend had done.

To give the otherwise dull room some spark and a touch of love, the hopeful Romeo has scattered hundreds of vibrant rose petals across the floor.

Upon entrance, he had even created an arrow that pointed towards the bed – which had also been glammed up to the max.

But instead of saying ‘I love you', the fella had taken a different approach – and wrote ‘Man likes U', adding a heart next to the text.

Above the confession of his feelings, the hotel guest had placed a box, as well as a golden bottle of a Au vodka to celebrate the special occasion.

In hysterics over the red-themed display, Douglas said in the video: ”Look at man's set-up – ‘Man likes U', with the Au.

”Went to help my friend set up his hotel room and I see this,” the pal couldn't stop laughing in the caption, as more than 5.5million watched the viral clip.

Thousands of Instagram users were in stitches – and while many were horrified, others said the romantic deserved an ”A for effort”.

One eagle-eyed Instagram user wondered if the hotel guest had used real flowers for the display.

”Them rose petals fake ??? cause them look like pepperoni.”

”When you have no intention of wifing her but do wifey things,” a second chuckled.

”Effort is effort, if you're laughing at your man for this you don't deserve him,” someone else thought, as others dubbed the move ”road-mantic”.

”The way I'd leave the room in a second if this s**t happens to me,” a viewer chimed in.

”Ngl [not gonna lie] when I first saw the rose petals I thought they were pepperonis,” a person admitted.

Permanent proposal gone wrong

In the snap, which has since gone viral, he showed off his new, which he'd used to pop the question.

He captioned the snap, shared on Instagram: “Proposal tattoo from yesterday.

“Stay tuned to find out YES or NO!”

He then mentioned the tattoo artist as he wrote: “Thanks Jeremy!”

The– which took up the whole of his upper arm – began with the name of his beloved, Nicole.

It then had “WILL YOU ” in bold, capital letters, followed by check boxes next to “Yes” or “No”.

“Valid from 2024 – 4ever,” the inking said at the bottom.

The tattoo was finished off with a note in brackets, which read: “With Dads approval”.

And while the majority of people were stunned that the man had gone to the extreme lengths of proposing with a tattoo, others pointed out an obvious error in the inking.

“Dad’s*. Punctuation matters,” they wrote.

“This bothers me so much. First thing I noticed!” another agreed.

“Cost another few bucks he didn’t have,” a third joked.
