COPS are hunting for a “masked man” who reportedly released gas on trams full of passengers.
Tram users were left scared after a man reportedly discharged a mystery gas on board aManchester tram.
Multiple incidents of the man releasing gas around the Abraham Moss and Crumpsall areas have been reported to police.
It is thought to be butane gas,according to the Manchester Evening News.
Lauren, who only gave her first name, was travelling from Market Street to Bury on the tram when a man boarded her carriage at about 8.30pm at Queen’s Road wearing “an industrial gas mask and blue backpack on”.
She said the man, who she estimated to be in his 30s, got looks from people because of his “large black mask” and a woman in front of her appeared to be “panicking”.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has said in a statement that they are assisting with the Greater Manchester Police investigations.
