A HUSBAND has appeared in court charged with murdering his wife whose body was found in a garden after she vanished from her office.
Paria Veisi, 37, was last seen on April 12 making her way out of the building in at around 3pm.
The businesswoman's £40,000 Mercedes GLC 220 was later found parked on a residential street but there was no sign of Paria.
Tragically, confirmed on Saturday that her body had been discovered in a suburban garden in Penylan, Cardiff.
Paria's husband Alireza Askari appeared at Cardiff Crown today charged with murder, preventing lawful and decent burial of a dead body and assaulting a person occasioning them actual bodily harm.
The 41-year-old spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during a brief hearing.
He appeared alongside Maryam Delavary, 48, who is accused of preventing a lawful and decent burial of a dead body and conspiring to pervert the course of justice.
She also spoke only to confirm her identity using an interpreter.
No pleas were entered, with both Askari and Delvary remanded in custody to next appear at the same court for a provisional trial in October.
A desperate hunt was launched for Paria after her loved ones reported her missing.
Her disappearance was described as “totally out of character”.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell, said: “This brings our search for Paria to a sad and tragic end.
“Paria’s family, all those who knew her, and those in her local community, will be deeply saddened and shocked by these latest developments.
“I would like to thank all those who have come forward so far with information since our appeal was launched.”
DCI Powell added there would be detectives and scene investigators in the Penylan area over the next week.
He encouraged people with any information to come forward and speak to officers at the scene to help with the police investigation.
A memorial service is set to take place at Cardiff Bay's Norwegian Church tomorrow night.
A notice inviting people to the service reads: “With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we invite you to a memorial gathering in honour of the kindness, selflessness, and the many smiles Paria Veisi shared throughout her life.
“Her memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
“We warmly welcome you to join us in remembering and celebrating Paria’s life.
“Your presence will be a great comfort to those mourning her loss and a tribute to the beautiful life she lived.”
