SHE thought she'd found a bargain in IKEA when she spotted what appeared to be a baking try for just £1.
But when she got home and popped it into the oven, she discovered that it's meant to be on.
Charley took to TikTok to share her unfortunate accident, as she showed the aftermath of putting the tray in the cooker.
“Turns out this ISN'T an oven tray,” she wrote over the top of the clip.
The video began with Charley holding up the tray – which is made of Polypropylene plastic – as it started off in one piece.
She then showed it in the sink after she'd whisked it out of the oven – with the plastic hanging off of it in strips.
Not only that, but the was covered in melted plastic too.
Meaning that Charley had to stand there and peel off the bits of plastic that had been left by the melted tray.
“Would you have been fooled?” Charley captioned the video.
And she quickly found out in the comments section that she wasn't the only one to have made the same mistake with the trays.
“I actually picked these up in IKEA yesterday, thinking it was an oven tray!” one wrote.
“I don’t like how it’s pretending to be an oven tray. Makes me uncomfy!” another wrote.
“I have also been tricked as such. Why oven tray shaped?” a third said.
“IKEA!!! Got me on this one too, what a mess,” someone else sighed.
“My son in law did this in their brand new oven,” another revealed.
Others made similar confessions on the IKEA website, while reviewing the £1 TILLGÃ…NG tray.
“I mistakenly bought this as a cheap oven tray – to my error it has melted all over my oven – what a mess!” one wrote.
“I think this should be highlighted in bold – not an oven tray.”
“Looks like an oven tray. Used it as an oven tray. Definitely is not an oven tray,” another added.
“I bought this tray expecting it to be used in the oven,” a third commented.
“So, I used it in the oven and it melted. Not happy with this purchase.”
“No sign for this item in store shows the materials made for this tray- this information is only featured online,” someone else wrote.
“The sign in store needs amending, pointing out it is made of plastic and not for oven use.
“It melted in our oven… nightmare to try and clean and rid the house of smoke fumes.”
In the description of the tray on the IKEA website, the Swedish company called it a “superhero”.
“It has a dirt-repellent and scratch-resistant surface, it is dishwasher safe, it is suitable to use both outdoors and indoors – and it also fits most trolleys,” they wrote.
However, there is also a warning, which reads: “TILLGÃ…NG is a serving tray made of plastic (not a baking tray) and therefore not suitable for use at high temperatures.”
And others commenting on Charley's video insisted it's clear as anything that the tray isn't made for use in the oven.
“I’m sorry that doesn’t look like an oven tray at all,” one wrote.
“Looks like a tray- similar to what we had at school for lunch. I have some in blue, kids make slime on them.”
“Did you not read any labels/advertisements before buying?” another added.
“It's plastic! I got these for my son to play with his slime and playdoh,” a third said.
“They are not for your oven at all.”
“I can tell from here that feels plastic,” someone else said.
