A SPECIAL iPhone setting can make your old mobile feel a little bit faster â and it won't cost you a penny.
So before you splash out on that big upgrade, there are a few tweaks you might want to make first.

The headline trick has been shared on where it's earned hundreds of likes, or “upvotes”.
It's linked to a little-known iPhone setting that you've probably never even seen, let alone meddled with.
The user that discovered it wrote: “This one setting just changed my life. How is this not set to fast by default? I just discovered you can set it to fast and it's so good.”
To find it, you'll want to first make sure you're running the latest iOS by going into Settings > General > Software Update.
Now go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Haptic Touch.
Haptic Touch is the setting that gives you a kind of feedback when you touch and hold on things.
And you can change how that setting feels in an instant through these settings â with options for Fast, Default, and Slow.
explains: “Adjust the time it takes to reveal content previews, actions, and contextual menus.”
So if you've ever held down on something on your iPhone and it felt slow, try changing this setting to Fast.
You can even try the change out right there in settings by pressing down on the picture of a flower under Touch Duration Test.
Try changing the Touch Duration setting, then press and hold on the flower to see how it feels.
It's effectively just speeding up the time it takes for the animation to complete.
And this means your iPhone should feel a lot snappier.
It won't fix all parts of a slow iPhone, but it's certainly one step towards making your old blower feel a little more new.

Apple fans raved about the feature, with one writing: “Thanks for this! Feels much better now.
Another said: “Just changed it and it feels a lot better. Thanks.”
One cheered: “WTH. So much better! Thanks for this.”
Another added: “Thanks! Never knew this existed.”
And one overjoyed iPhone owner wrote: “Legend, love little quality of life improvements like this.”

And this means they'll hold less charge versus when they were new.
But it also means that the performance of your iPhone can drop as it works to protect the battery.

So by getting a , you can not only unlock like-new battery life but a performance boost chucked in too.
You might even be owed a swap for free.
Apple explains: “We can replace your iPhone battery for a service fee. Our warranty doesn’t cover batteries that wear down from normal use.
“Your iPhone is eligible for a battery replacement at no additional cost if you have AppleCare+ and your product's battery holds less than 80 percent of its original capacity.”

If you do have to pay, it'll typically be under £100/$100 depending on your model â a far cheaper option that forking out for a brand new iPhone.

Lastly, make sure you're installing any iPhone updates.
That means updating your iOS (Settings > General > Software Update), but also the apps that you've downloaded via the App Store.
These updates can often improve the performance of your device, especially if your iPhone is suffering from bugs or mysterious freezing.
