Kanye West blames Taylor Swift for not being selected to perform at Super Bowl

Published on April 10, 2025 at 12:36 PM

Controversial American singer, Kanye West, has blamed Taylor Swift for him not being selected to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.

Kanye in a post on X, also claimed that another reason for him not being selected was his wearing of the Make America Great Again, MAGA, hat. MAGA is a slogan associated with President Donald Trump’s campaign.

Speaking in a now deleted post, the 47 year-old explained that his encounter with Taylor Swift is among the three reasons he wasn't selected.

He wrote, “I never was allowed to do the Super Bowl because of three moments. George Bush doesn’t care about Black people. The Taylor Swift movement moment. And wearing a MAGA hat.”

Kanye was apparently referring to his clash with Taylor Swift for giving a shout out to Beyonce in her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Music Video Awards show.
