Published on April 07, 2025 at 01:58 PM

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has paid a condolence visit to the Argungu Emirate in Augie Local Government Area following the recent deadly attack in Lakurawa, which claimed several lives.

The governor expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the wider community affected by the violence.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Idris expressed his administration’s commitment to ending insecurity across the state.

As part of the state’s immediate response, he announced the release of ₦50 million in financial support to the bereaved families and others affected by the attack.

He stated that the gesture was intended to ease the burden of grief and assist families in beginning the recovery process.

Governor Idris also commended Abdulrahman Usman Zagga, Director of Security Services in Kebbi State, for his coordination efforts and collaboration with security agencies in maintaining order and protecting lives and property.

He further appealed to the Emir of Argungu, His Royal Highness Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera, to intensify community sensitization on security matters.

The governor urged traditional rulers, local vigilante groups, and community leaders to work more closely with government security operatives in intelligence gathering and early threat response.

“May Almighty Allah continue to protect our dear Kebbi State and the entire nation. Amin,”; the governor prayed.
