Kidnappers free Pastor, detain church secretary who delivered ransom in Kaduna

Published on April 11, 2025 at 05:01 PM

Pastor Samson Ndah Ali of the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, Mararaba Aboro, in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been released by his captors.

However, the church’s financial secretary, Yusuf Shehu Ambi, who delivered the ransom was detained.
A source told DAILY POST that the church official was held back by the kidnappers who had gone to deliver an undisclosed sum to secure Pastor Ali’s release.

According to the source, “The pastor was freed, but the kidnappers decided to detain the man who brought the ransom. We don’t know why, and the community is in shock.”

The kidnappers had initially demanded a ransom of N100 million when Pastor Ali, 30, was abducted from his home in the early hours of April 8, just two weeks after his posting to the church.

The state Police Command Spokesman, ASP Mansir Hassan could not be reached for comment on the development.
