KYREN WILSON is going to extraordinary lengths to avoid the infamous Crucible Curse.
The , 33, will head to Sheffield later this month to defend his crown.
No first-time winner of the World Snooker Championship has retained the title since the began hosting in 1997.
But World No2 Wilson is determined to end that streak in South Yorkshire later this month.
The 33-year-old uploaded a hilarious video to social media in an effort to break the curse.
It saw Wilson undertaking a selection of tasks believed to bring on bad luck.
He is seen smashing a mirror with a rest to start the viral clip.
Holding his World Championship tropy in his garden, Wilson is then passed by a black cat.
And he ends the video by opening up an umbrella inside, a superstition long believed to cause the owner bad luck.
A smiling Wilson twirled the brolly round in his hand, with his management company TW adding: “Curses are made to be broken.”
One fan laughed in response: “My anxiety through the roof when he smashed that mirror. Surprised he didn't walk under a ladder and tip some salt. 7 years bad luck now I'm afraid.”
And another said: “The curse will be broken this year, mark my words, no pressure.”
Wilson has enjoyed a strong 2025 and comes into the tournament in superb form.
He has won four ranking events so far this, racking up £961,100 in prize money.
