Price revealed last month that Paul had and wanted to battle it out in Greece – but he had been “too scared” to pen a response.

He admitted: “He wrote back to me. The message says ‘Come to Greece, man. Just name a price.'”

But The Iceman's Premier League rival has been left in the cold by the prospect of a boxing bout.

MVG takes on Price in the quarter-finals in this Thursday's event in Berlin.

Asked about the prospect of Price vs Paul, Van Gerwen replied: “What a ridiculous thing.

“I don’t like it. I don’t see that fight happening at all.

“Why would Jake Paul care about someone like Gerwyn Price?

“No chance, not now, maybe not ever.”

Van Gerwen also spiced things up ahead of the showdown in Germany by claiming he wasn't even aware of who he was playing.

He continued: “I don’t care at all who I have to play against.

“I didn’t even know until you told me.

“You have to be ready for anyone anyway.”

Van Gerwen, a three-time world champion, is yet to win a Premier League night this season.

He currently sits third in the standings behind World No1 Luke Humphries and reigning PDC champ .

MVG last won the coveted world title back in 2019, pocketing £500,000 in the process.

The PDC recently announced it was to , with next year's world champ bagging a cool £1million.

Van Gerwen added: “If you look at the sport’s popularity and the way inflation has risen over the past six years, this was bound to happen at some point.

“It was already a lot of money, and now it’s doubled. But at some point, the money doesn’t matter anymore.

“I’m all about that title – that’s the best motivation.”
