The moment was not captured on camera but it led to a shock divide between the once-solid couple.

In the latest episode of the show, could be seen crying into Carina's arms as he broke down as a result of his behaviour.

He appeared rattled by his behaviour which left Carina stunned.

Despite this, speaking to the cameras she revealed she was “not scared” of him or scared to be in the same place as him.

Having spent some time apart, Paul returned to the apartment where he instantly broke down upon embracing Carina.

He sobbed into her neck as she did her best to re-assure him that it would be okay.

With Paul visibly emotional, Carina said to him: “Oh my goodness, so how are you feeling?”

He replied: “I'm so so sorry.”

He stroked her chin as he continued: “I just couldn't stop thinking about it.

“I never slept last night. I shouldn't have reacted that way. I just…

“”I promise you that will never happen again.”

Although tensions simmered between the pair after the conversation, it was revealed last month that Australian Police had opened an into the incident.

NSW confirmed that officers from the South Police Area Command have opened an investigation into the matter.

“The matter has been referred to officers from South Sydney Police Area Command, who have commenced an investigation,”

A spokesperson said: “The matter has been referred to officers from South Sydney Police Area Command, who have commenced an investigation.

“As the investigation is current, police will not be making any further comment in relation to the matter.”

Insiders told SkyNews.com.au that Nine Network was approached by police on Thursday and asked to cooperate with the investigation.

A source said: “Footage is likely to be seized and participants will be approached to assist the investigation.”

The incident reportedly took place in the hotel apartment Antoine shared with Mirabile, 31, at Sydney’s One Global Resorts Green Square.

It allegedly stemmed from a row after Mirabile admitted to having previously slept with American rapper Quavo.

Despite her repeated apologies and attempts to reassure Antoine that it was just a past fling, his frustration boiled over, resulting in the property damage.

The revelation has divided fans, with some calling for Antoine to be removed from the experiment, while others argue that emotional abuse should be treated just as seriously as physical violence.

Later in the episode, as the couples gathered for the dinner party, Paul addressed his behaviour as he emotionally opened up on their “big fight” before confessing to “punching a hole through our bedroom door”.

He then said: “It's just not the right thing to do, it's unacceptable.

“I'm still hating myself for this.”
