Horror moment motorcyclist smashes head-on into another biker during dangerous overtake on rain-soaked road

THIS is the horrifying moment a motorcyclist smashed head on with a fellow biker while overtaking in the rain.

At around 5.45pm on March 9, 2023, Goff decides to overtake a RAC recovery van towing her partners car.

As she comes to the front of the vehicle, an oncoming motorcyclist appears through the rain.

Devon and Cornwall confirmed the rider had to have their leg amputated as a result of the horror.

Meanwhile Goff, of Milton Road in Exeter, appeared at Exeter Crown for sentencing on Friday.

She pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving and was sentenced to 20 months in prison.

Goff will also be disqualified from holding a licence for four years.

Officer in the case, Alan Kennedy from the Serious Collisions Investigation Team, said: “Kathryn Goff’s actions on the day of the collision resulted in an injury which has changed the life of another motorcycle rider.

“This was a totally avoidable collision.

“Goff’s riding fell far below the standard expected of a road user and the decision to perform the overtake was made even worse by the poor weather conditions at the time.

“We hope this case will serve as a reminder that every manoeuvre can have tragic consequences.”;
