A MAJOR motorway has been closed after a horror crash with one woman rushed to hospital.

The crash occurred on the M2 heading coastbound between Junction 2 for Strood and Rochester to Junction 3 for Chatham.

Kent Police confirmed two cars collided and a woman was taken to hospital.

Motorists are reporting stationary traffic with waits of more than an hour.

A police spokesman said: “Police were called at 4.12pm on April 16, following a collision involving two cars on the coastbound M2, between junctions 2 and 3.

“Officers are at the scene, along with fire and ambulance crews and a woman has been taken to hospital.

“The coastbound carriageway is currently closed.”;
