My mum decorated my flat with Temu buys while I was away – people say it looks ‘dystopian’ & like ‘Barbie’s play house’

WHEN you get back from vacation, you're usually delighted to come back home.

But one woman was left horrified when she arrived back from overseas.

But people said her efforts made her home look more dystopian than anything else

Louisa, from Melbourne in Australia, took to social media to share what her mum did to her home while she was away.

“POV your mum learnt how to use Temu and decorate your place while you're overseas,” she wrote.

And while her mum had good intentions, it seemed Louisa was not impressed with her efforts.

As she entered the house, she saw that her mum had added lots of decorations to transform the home.

But instead of buying actual artwork or plants or shelves, she had used cheap stickers of the items.

Along the hallway, her mum had put up stickers of plants in small shelves as well as a floral ‘toilet' sticker on her bathroom door.

In her dining room, her mum had created a feature wall by sticking a large sticker over her dining table, which captured French patio doors opening out to a beach front.

Her mum also added some blue tie-dye cushions to the sofa and a midnight blue clock to her front room.

To finish it all off, her mum also added a sticker to create the illusion that she had a large shelf with plants hanging from it.

The bedroom also got the same treatment, with her mum adding a massive sticker of the ocean above her bed.

I wanted a panelled room but wasn't going to spend loads so risked it & bought £36 strips from Temu - I saved a fortune

“Bless her. But also, why though?!” She captioned the post.

The clip quickly went viral on her TikTok account @louisafrommelbourne with over 1.5 million views and 139k likes.

People were left horrified by her mum's decorations, with many saying it reminded them of their old Barbie playhouse where you would use stickers to add decor to the home.

One person wrote: “There’s something dystopian about sticker decorations that look like real decor.”
