TRIBUTES have been paid to a mum-of-three who was run over and killed by a van while playing golf.
Suzanne Cherry, 62, was enjoying a game at Aston Wood Golf Club, in Sutton, , with her husband Clinton when tragedy stuck.
She was hit by a Nissan van which had swerved off the road and on to the course, after being chased by two police patrol cars at about 10.15am on Friday.
Suzanne was airlifted to hospital after the horror but sadly passed away from her injuries on Tuesday.
West Midlands detained a 51-year-old man, from Bloxwich, on suspicion of murder on Wednesday.
A 22-year-old man, from Dudley, was also arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and assisting an offender.
Cops detained a third man, 41, from Worcester, on suspicion of assisting an offender.
They remain in custody while investigations are ongoing.
Officers are still hunting a fourth man who was seen fleeing the golf course on foot.
A neighbour of Suzanne has since spoken out about the tragedy.
She told how the company director, who lived in nearby Aldridge with her husband, was a “much-love friend and neighbour”.
“What happened was just appalling,” the neighbour told MailOnline.
“She was playing golf with her husband. He saw it all happen and is a broken man.”
Another resident from the leafy street added: “Going to play the game you love on a beautiful day and then that happens. It is beyond comprehension.
“Why would anyone be driving a van up that bank and onto a golf course. It’s insanity.”
Nearby Calderfields Golf and Country Club paid a heartfelt tribute online.
They said: “Our thoughts also go out to our neighbours, their staff and friends at Aston Wood, this was a tragic and very sad occurrence which should not happen anywhere, let alone on the tranquil environment of a golf course.”
The Independent Office for Police Conduct launched an investigation into the incident.
The Police watchdog said: “We understand the police cars stopped following the van after it came off the road and went up an embankment onto the golf course where the van collided with a woman.”
Dash cam footage allegedly showed the vehicle speeding through a busy roundabout near the golf course on Blake Street.

“A black van came racing through our car park then went up Clarence Road, he managed to turn himself around and shot up Rosemary Hill Road.
“He spun around on one of the back streets and then went down to the

One woman waiting at Blake Street train station at around 10.30am said she heard someone shouting for “help” from the golf club.
West Midlands Police have handed the investigation over to Staffordshire Police.
The force said it was continuing to search for a man that was seen leaving Aston Wood Golf Club on foot.
“We’re piecing together his movements after the collision, speaking to witnesses and going through the footage that we’ve collected and that have been sent to us after our appeals,” a spokesperson said.
“If you have any dashcam, CCTV, doorbell footage or if you were in the area of Blake Street and Birmingham Road between Sutton Coldfield and Shenstone at approximately 10.25am on Friday please get in touch.”
