I did a 24hr trip to Amsterdam for ‘saggy eyelid’ surgery – the results are insane, and it was so cheap

A MUM made a 24-hour trip to Amsterdam for cosmetic surgery to fix her “saggy” eyelids – and has left social media users stunned with the results.

Samantha Sturrock, from Fife, jetted out to the Netherlands for the upper bleph op at the end of March.

The cosmetic procedure, known as blepharoplasty, involves the removal of excess skin or fat from the eyelids to improve the appearance of hooded or drooping eyelids.

According to the NHS, blepharoplasty may cost anywhere between £2,000 and £6,000 in the UK.

But savvy Samantha, 36, only paid £520 for her procedure abroad.

Her hotel and flights took the overall cost to just under £700 – meaning she saved at least £1,300 by getting the work done outside of the UK.

The network marketer, who now lives in Newcastle, flew out to Amsterdam the night before her surgery.

She stayed in a hotel just a five-minute walk away from the cosmetic clinic, Faceland, and was able to fly home three hours after her operation.

Samantha, a former nurse, told Fabulous: “It’s healed so well! I can’t believe it, and for the price too.

“I’d been looking into it the last year but the price in the UK is crazy. Then someone suggested Faceland to me.

“I searched it on TikTok, messaged a lot of people who had made videos as I believed ‘too good to be true' and after I spoke to a lot of people I booked it.”

Samantha was self-conscious about her droopy eyelids before her surgery and felt they made her look “absolutely shattered”.

Speaking just two weeks post-op, she now says: “I look younger, fresher and honestly I could not be happier.

“The swelling's pretty much gone down. Still no bruising.
I am genuinely over the moon.”

Talking more about the surgery itself, she added: “You do not get put to sleep. There is no option for that.

“That's obviously probably why it is more affordable. You don't get put to sleep for it.

“It's local anaesthetic. A couple of injections along the top, and you don't feel a thing.

“I sat and spoke the whole way through it. Never at any point did I think like ‘oh my god like this needs to stop'.

“The most annoying thing was probably the big bright light. It was super bright but that was it.

“It was an absolute walk in the park. Getting Botox is sorer, getting your lips done is sorer.”

Samantha has been sharing her post-op recovery on TikTok – @the.sam.s – with social media users left stunned by how amazing the results look already.

One gushed: “Amazing you look so much younger and eyes are more open and fresher.”

A second wrote: “Girl the way this instantly took years off you?? That’s it I’m doing it.”

“Wow it looks so natural great results”, added a third.

A fourth insisted: “Urs are the best I’ve seen! Making me want it sooo bad lol.”

“Wow you look so amazing and really fresh faced”, chimed in a fifth.

Meanwhile, a sixth said: “Looks amazing I’d love to get this!!!!!”
